So to win a conference title isn't considered "big"?
That's why you can't take the chance. You can play William and Mary, but you'd better have someone even if it's a half assed team in case the conference is down. A Colorado, A&M, Arizona St, or any middle of the pack BCS conference team will do. I think VT officials have figured that out and that's why you're seeing the change in some of the future schedules. Until then though, VT fan will get killed if they try to argue with anyone outside of the ACC other than FSU and Miami about football.

Welcome to the USSA!
Gary Williams has a trophy case. Len Bias coked out and one foot in the grave > anyone on VT's roster.
Actually they did play aTm.

Not in the ACC. Not from the quality of football that has been played over the last couple of years, no.

Shut it down to try noy to lose? Who was the coach? Johnny Majors? Regardless of the excuse it was 16-13 final, correct? </div></div>
Yep they shut it down not to lose. They were dominating the game early and Tech wasn't even in it. Tubs started being conservative and let VT get back in it late. I remember Drew and a few more VT fans during that game thinking it was over early because it was. 16-13 was the final and it could have been 28-35 - 13 if they hadn't went in a shell. Then again, if they'd started slinging the ball around the one part of VT's team that is respectable could have made a play (the secondary). I don't really blame Tubs.

I wouldnt think so, nah not really. I never got excited about Miami winning the Big East. Never been excited about UofA winning the Pac 10 in hoops or the Giants winning the NL west or the Bears winning the NFC North. Nothing all that special about it really.

I know. You have to do that every year though.

Wait til Miami and FSU get back on track, then see how many ACC titles you win. Anybody that says the ACC hasn't been down in Football over the past few years is crazy. You won it twice, great, but have basically nothing to show for it.
